Microsoft uses PPTP for its VPN. Supposedly, at least. Microsoft has been known for claiming to use a protocol and then not be compatible with it at all, see e.g. Active Directory or Internet Explorer.

Creating a VPN connection[]


Windows 2003[]

  • Go to "Add or remove programs" -> "Add/remove windows components" -> "Management and monitoring tools", then enable "Connection manager administration kit"
  • Click ok, next and follow the installation guide

CMAK wizard[]

Windows 2003[]

  • Go to start -> run, type "cmak" and click ok

This should start the CMAK wizard
